A multinational alliance against plastic waste

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) is born, an alliance composed of companies operating all over the world, active in the production of consumer goods and plastics, aimed at proposing innovative solutions to counter the dispersion of plastic waste in the environment, especially in the oceans. It is the largest initiative realized, unique in its kind and active in various sectors.

The founding members of AEPW are BASF, Berry Global, Braskem, Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC, Clariant, Covestro, Dow, DSM, ExxonMobil, Formosa Plastics Corporation USA, Henkel, LyondellBasell, Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings, Mitsui Chemicals, NOVA Chemicals, OxyChem , Procter & Gamble, Reliance Industries, SABIC, Sasol, SUEZ, Shell, SCG Chemicals, Sumitomo Chemical, Total, Veolia, Versalis (Eni) and PolyOne.

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste (AEPW) is made up of nearly 30 companies that have invested more than one billion US dollars and have set themselves the target of allocating 1.5 billion dollars over the next five years in the fight against plastic waste dispersed in the environment.

The AEPW is a non-profit organization that intends to develop, deploy and implement initiatives aimed at minimizing and managing plastic waste, promoting plastic solutions such as reuse, recovery and recycling to avoid dispersion environment.
They have two goals: collaborate with other stakeholders; apply the resources and technical and engineering experiences of Alliance members to promote an integrated four-part strategy (infrastructure development, innovation, training and engagement and cleanup).
