Climate change one of main global priorities-Gentiloni

From Gazzetta del Sud (english version)

Climate change is one of the main global policy priorities along with migration, security and development, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said on Thursday. He said climate financing was one way to help developing countries foster practices that limit climate change. Italy has committed to contributing 250 million euros over five years to the "Green Climate Fund" within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC). During a visit to Washington on Wednesday, Pope Francis spoke out about climate change, supporting Barack Obama's efforts to fight it. Gentiloni told a meeting of parliamentary commissions preparing for the Paris U.N. climate change conference later this year that the Pope's comments on the environment highlighted the central role it plays for global interests.
